I. Love. Movies.❀️

In fact, one of my favorite games to play with fellow cinema nerds is to recast famous movies and then get in heated debates into all hours of the morning about our choices.

For example, I love Jeff Goldbloom in Jurassic Park β€” one of the greatest movies ever made β€” but I think a younger Bruce Campbell could have turned out an interesting take on Dr. Ian Malcolm... 



However, as much I love the actors and actresses that bring iconic motion picture stories to life, I absolutely hate celebrity interviews. Particularly those of the late-night talk show variety.

With very exceptions β€” for instance, Bill Hader and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (my tall brunette writer role model) β€” celebrities that wow me on the big screen tend to disappointment me once they are forced to operate as a human without a script to prop them up.

That sounds very rude, I know. 

Generally speaking, I try not to be judgmental of those I haven't actually met in real life. But that doesn't change the fact that there have been too many moments where someone riveted me with a show-stopping performance for the ages, only to break my heart once I realized they were only as interesting (and smart) as the writers behind them.

Again, I know that's terrible of me. But no one likes that level of bait and switch, where the contents of a book don't live up to its cover... so to speak.

To put this in a different context, think about company websites that look breathtakingly stunning and cutting edge on the surface, but don't have much else going on for them. You realize within a few scrolls and clicks that you can't find anything you're looking for, the content is flimsy (at best), and the organization of what is there is utterly confusing.

Like they always say on the Great British Bake Off, "You can't win with style over substance." 

The same holds true with websites. It doesn't matter how pretty your website is. If the underlying website strategy is busted, it's always going to end up being a disappointment.
