How to Set Up a Successful YouTube Channel [Infographic]

Strategy

Many people think that starting a YouTube Channel and getting millions of subscribers are easy things to accomplishThis also goes along with the belief that every channel leads to high profit and earnings with little effort.

Both couldn't be farther from the truth.

Where yes, YouTube has become an industry more than just a website, the idea of being successful there is complicated.

A big, yet one of the most basic pieces of this puzzle is optimizing your YouTube channel.

Luckily, this infographic from We are 10 helps simplify the arduous task that is running a YouTube channel with some handy tips and facts.

Whether you have a gaming channel, a beauty channel, or even a B2B SaaS channel, this guide will be able to help you.

Getting Started

The first thing that any content creator needs to be aware of is their audience. Without a loyal audience, your channel will not have views on a constant basis. Along with this, your audience will most likely not grow due to lack of sharing.

The main questions that you need to be asking yourself are:

  • Who is my potential audience?
  • How big is this audience?
  • How many other creators am I competing against?
  • What can I do to make my content stand out?

This also brings up the next point: Create a brand around your channel.Have a proper logo, channel art, a consistent style with your titles or graphics. You also need a memorable and unique name,

If your channel is just named 'John Doe,' then it's clear that not many people will remember you. Think about it -- high-profile channels are usually not named after their creators but are memorable brands that are easy to recognize and recall (i.e., Smosh, PewdiePie, IISuperwomanII, etc.)

YouTube is not the only website you need to be building a brand on. As a business, it is smart to become established on other social media sites (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.) to help you distribute your content and build your audience.

The truth is on YouTube; you will get nowhere if you do not approach it like a serious professional.

Make sure that your schedule is consistent, your equipment is state of the art and also that your content draws an audience to your channel. Every YouTube star is in their business 100%. If you are going to compete. You need to be as well.
