Your INBOUND update for the week: they've got an “agenda” up now (super basic, just major session times).

Property of the Week: Field Type Series

Let’s Wrap it Up by Getting Nerdy

One of the biggest barriers I think people have to using HubSpot effectively is not understanding how their data is managed in the platform.

So let’s talk about databases. (If you already know about databases, and how your data is managed in HubSpot, just skip forward a few minutes) ;)

For our listeners that do get this: have you found a good way to explain it to other non-technical users?

Here's my incredibly rudimentary diagram of how I like to explain HubSpot's database basic structure:

HubSpot's Object-oriented Database

What’s on Marcus’ Mind

Marcus shares his takeaways from Social Media Marketing World. Spoiler alert: it has to do with businesses using video on Facebook.

This Episode’s Sponsor: Woopra

The most advanced customer journey analytics. Woopra allows you to build the complete end-to-end customer journey, starting with the point your users click on an ad and land on your website, all the way till the point they convert into your paying customers, and beyond.

Woopra's optional goals allow you to see the attribution of certain actions towards your pre-defined conversions (e.g. are users who engage with us on chat more likely to sign up for our service? are customers who've submitted at least 3 customer support tickets within the last 30 days more likely to churn?).

It’s analytics on steroids.

HubSpot Wishlist: Limiting Permissions by Pipeline

“It would be useful to be able to restrict access to individual pipelines at the user level. We employ certain sales persons whose pipelines should not be viewed by other members of our staff.” - Mike Brouwers

HubSpot Updates

Fully Report on the Success of your Social Strategy Within HubSpot

“With this update, you can now...

1. Post within HubSpot, directly to the network, or from any social tool you choose, and still track your success over time within HubSpot.

2. Get insight on your social media performance as soon as you connect your account to HubSpot's Marketing Hub.

3. Track a number of new metrics within the social tool -- including number of shares, impressions, and information on how your audience is growing over time.”

Assign Objects to Multiple Owners using Custom Owner Properties

“With a recent update, you can now create custom owner properties that pull directly from your user list in settings. That way, the picklist options are dynamically updated. As an added bonus, permissions respect custom owner properties. So, in the above case, as the BDR owner of a deal, Jen Smith would get access to that record.”

We already talked about this last ep in our field type series, but the important thing with this update is these field types now respect user permissions for ownership! YES!!

Think: when users can view/edit owned-only assets, you can now set their ownership with custom properties. Awesome!

Connect Multiple Shopify Stores to HubSpot

“After a store has been connected, you will now see an option to connect additional stores.

Each store will have its own ecommerce settings page, with its own set of ecommerce embedded workflows. Contacts, deals, and products will have a new property called 'source store.' This will allow you to report, filter, and view data from one individual store or all your connected stores at once.”

A fresh new look for the HubSpot Mobile App

“With a new navigation architecture, it’s easier to discover all the app’s awesome features.

With a fresh new color scheme that’s more highly contrasted, the app looks sharper when used outdoors and in poor visibility. As an added bonus, it’s more consistent with the desktop design.”
