On this episode of the Film School for Marketers podcast, we are joined by Sean Horsfall from Len’s Cove a full service marina resort in Portland, Ontario since 1958.

Sean is a previous client of ours and has been creating video for about five months and has seen some great success so far.

Len’s Cove is a small company with a limited team so we thought it would be great to talk about how there is no such thing as too small of an organization or too low of a budget to start making effective sales and marketing videos.

Listen to the full episode here (or scroll down to watch the video):

Sean talks about the process of hiring a videographer and what ultimately ended up working best for him.

He also gives insights into the challenges he’s faced on his video journey, how as a man with many hats he found a way to make video a priority, the types of videos that have been most successful for Len’s Cove and tips he’d give other organizations in a similar space and situation.

In this episode we dive into:

  • Struggles Sean faced when getting started with video (especially as a small business with limited staff)
  • How he was able to get ahead of those challenges
  • Sean talks about “Super Day” which was how he was able to get days worth of filming done in a limited amount of time
  • Videos that have helped build trust with his customers before they walk in the door
  • Experience getting noticed by others in his industry for his videos
  • How he was able to ramp up, be agile and accelerate quickly
  • The ramp up period to his success
  • What he would do differently or the same again to get the most out of time and budget
  • The types of video that have been most successful for Len’s Cove
  • How to hold yourself accountable, even during the challenging times
  • Use of personalized video in the sales process
  • Tips for being comfortable on camera
