She's the perfect mom. The perfect wife. She looks gracious on the treadmill and never ever sweats. She shows up to meetings perfectly prepared and everything she says is witty, smart -- and it's just nauseating.
We all wish that simply being hosts of a show that was designed to empower women at home and in their careers would make us immune to that nasty internal voice that whispers horrible things to us. Things like:
"Who does she think she is? Why does she always have to win over the room?"
"'GREAT JOB' on finishing first in fitness class, Robyn, but NO ONE CARES!"
"Homemade gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free, grain-free, dairy-free cookie bars for the snack day at school, seriously?!?! HOW!!!"
The truth is, however, that little voice is inside all of us, even Britt, Angela, and I.
This week, I found myself focusing more on what and why I was experiencing those feelings to try and figure out what was really going on.
What I found after spending time chatting with Duke (my adorable puppy) and Britt and Angela, is that the times I felt those things the most were in moments where I was intimated.
