For this weeks #impacttips, we decided to highlight some key factors often overlooked that will strengthen your company’s social media presence.
Social media has become an essential part of executing a successful inbound marketing campaign due to its ability to expand a company’s reach in a very short amount of time. The challenge however, is identifying ways to more effectively engage with your followers and maintain a powerful social media presence.
Below is this weeks installment is IMPACT Tips, where I go through three of the key factors in order to ensure your social media presence is working for you.
Visually Attractive Profiles
Every social media account should have a high-resolution profile image. Usually, this will be your company logo or something incorporated with it. Why high-res? It’s very important to feature high quality pictures on your accounts to attract visitors (doesn’t everyone like visually appealing things?) and to also set your company aside as professional and cutting edge.
Sharing Quality Content
Now that you have the visual part down, next up is the content. Your social media accounts provide a great opportunity to share content from your website, including:
- Blog articles
- Premium content (Ebooks, webinars, free assessments)
- Services & solutions offered (any deals?)
By featuring content from your website on your social media accounts, you’re doing two things. For starters, you’re helping to set your company aside as industry leaders. And second, you’re effectively driving followers from your social media accounts back to your website, where they can potentially become a lead from all of your lead generation opportunities (you savvy inbound marketer.)
Engagement is Key
Quite possibly the most important factor (besides having a social media account to begin with) is engaging with your following. Stay connected with your followers by conducting polls, asking questions and listening to what they have to say. Prove you are human and that you are listening to them.
Another important thing to consider is that people like doing business with people. Be sure to include pictures of you and your staff every once in a while. Shake things up with some funny tidbits, this lets your followers know that you are human and down to earth, rather than overly sales-sy.
