Making the decision to upgrade your logo can be one of the toughest business decisions that you will make. If you are toying with the idea on upgrading your logo, how do you know that you are ready to invest the time, money, and resources on transition?

Two of the more popular reasons to rehabilitate a logo are if a company acquires another business, or if there is a merger of two companies. Both of these would most likely result in a need to revamp the logo of the business as there are new entities and identities involved. A great example of this would be the logo changes of AT&T. When, or if, something like this does happen with your business, don’t forget to take into consideration the audience that you will be reaching with your logo, where your logo will be placed, and what message your logo delivers.

Another great reason for upgrading your logo is to save money and time during reproduction. If you have not yet established a solid logo for your business and your current design is extremely detailed, this could be a great opportunity for you to save some money on the reproduction of business materials. If this is, in fact, the case for your company, as you have your logo redesigned keep in mind that colors and detail cost more money during reproduction. Try to stay with the old saying “Keep It Simple”.

And the most common reason for you to upgrade your logo is if your current design has become old and dated. Whether your logo looks old or your company has grown out of its original meaning an upgrade of your logo can provide a much needed breath of fresh air into your business as well as your clientele. I highly suggest taking a look at nationally recognized companies as well as local companies that provide a similar service. Make sure that you take into consideration that you want a fresh new look (not a copied image), and an upgraded logo that will refresh the attitude surrounding your company.

Overall, there are countless reasons for you to research upgrading your logo. If you find yourself in the process of debating whether or not to rehab your logo make sure you contact professional logo design companies and make an educated decision. As in most cases, you will find that a new look for your logo will pay off!
