From logos and branding to website design and print publications, ground-breaking graphic design is one of the most sought after services in Connecticut and the rest of the nation.  However, in order to achieve maximum efficacy throughout your marketing tools and uniquely and effectively elevate brand awareness, there are four things that you need to know.

Know Your Target Audience

While every marketing campaign should start with understanding its audience, it is exponentially more important to know your target audience as you are communicating primarily through visual affect.  So, instead of saying that you want to have your product used by everyone within a 50 mile radius, truly give this some thought and determine who will benefit from your company the most; this will lead you and your graphic design team to tremendous success.

Some of the things you need to keep in mind are:

  • Target age range (and possibly education level)
  • Target gender
  • Target location (if applicable)
  • Common problems the above audience experience and how you can help them
  • Ways to provide that audience with your product/service (how will they buy from you)

All of the information that you can collect will significantly help you design a successful graphic design effort.

Know Your Tagline and/or Slogan Options

This is one of the most confused features of a marketing campaign throughout all companies.

Keep in mind that a slogan (or tagline) can serve as one of two roles: (1) the tagline should state what your company does if your business name does not, or (2) the tagline should add to the interest level of the company name if the business name does state what your company does.

Overall, the slogan needs to consistently and quickly deliver a powerful message that engages your audience and elicits a buying behavior.

Know What Interests Your Audience

Like creating content that converts readers into clients, the offers you provide through your marketing efforts needs to be one that also increases traffic and/or revenue for your company.  Some things that you can consider:

  • Can you solve a problem that your audience consistently encounters?
  • Can you help the audience meet a basic need in their life, or possibly increase the quality of life they lead?
  • Can you provide a higher quality value for the service in comparison to why the audience will pay?
  • Can you guarantee your company’s product or service to ensure complete clientele satisfaction?
  • Can you create a call to action that clearly defines the next step for the audience?

If you are able to answer at least three of those questions, you will have an outstanding jump-start into your campaign and graphic designing for those marketing tools.

Know the Buying Progression & System

Too many business owners do not take the time to understand the progressive relationship their current clients go through.  Well, believe it or not, but there are levels of relationship (be they short or long) that someone goes through prior to becoming a customer.  So, do you know what those very specific steps are for your audience?

To help advance each level of relationship and enhance the buying experience with your company, increasing the amount of contact between you and the company is significantly important.  In other words, direct a face-to-face client who is not ready to buy to your website or social media profiles to see what other people are saying and the other ways your company has helped similar clients.  In the same thought, direct website browsers to call or e-mail for more information.

The idea, though, is to consistently and effectively be visible with the audience to establish your company as an authority figure in the industry.

In summary, in order to lead a successful marketing campaign with outstanding graphic design work, you need to make sure you understand your audience, develop and integrate your tagline/slogan, get to know what interests your audience, and know the buying progression of your clients.
