Community Involvement
At IMPACT, we pride ourselves in not just being part of a great community, but in helping it to grow. We do our best to stay actively involved in local fundraisers, meetings, and events to support the great people and companies in the neighboring area. Listed below are some of the organizations which we are happy to be involved with currently.
Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce
Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to business development in North Haven and Wallingford, Connecticut through member involvement.
Wallingford Education Foundation
The Wallingford Education Foundation is a non-profit, community-based partnership whose mission is to provide financial support for programs outside the school budget that will empower ideas and enhance the educational experience, thereby helping prepare our students for full participation in a global society.
Mahan Planetarium & Learning Dome Committee
The Wallingford Education Foundation is currently raising funds to upgrade the planetarium and learning dome at Sheehan High School with a 21st century digital projection system and interactive learning software programs for all ages. Our goal is to have the project complete by the Fall of 2012.
Features of this renovation include:
- A Spitz Sci-Dome HD© Digital Projection System
- A surround-sound system with assistive listening component for the hearing impaired
- Starry Night© K-12 curriculum learning software package
- Nine prepared digital HD software programs & shows
- Advanced teaching equipment including a SMART BOARD© System
- Interactive student response system including wireless controls, microphones and a WebCam.
