If there’s one industry out there that should have a personal touch, it’s definitely the health service providers industry. No other type of industry is so private and important to the quality of one’s day to day life. Unfortunately, at least in the view of many people I speak with, the health care industry has lost that personal touch. No longer are their products and services so much about helping someone in need; now it’s all about money, money, money!
When I ask people about how satisfied they are with the health service industry in this country, I more or less get a very nonchalant response. It seems that none of the businesses seem to care about whether or not they get well. When I ask if they showed more attention to the client and seemed more personal rather than like a large, cold corporation, they agreed that they would:
- purchase from that company, and
- make future purchases from that specific company if they’re satisfied with the personalized service
Having a blog allows you to go beyond simply giving customer service. It allows you to be a helpful resource for people who are in need of the services and products that you offer. It allows you to become more than just any old wheelchair or at-home nurse provider; you become human, someone who cares about this individual who’s reaching out for your help and care.

Why are you in the Health Services Industry?
What got you into this particular industry in the first place? Maybe you have a touching story about how you watched a similar product or service help a parent, grandparent, or close friend and you want to provide that same care to people in need. Maybe you want to improve the industry after seeing its shortcomings. Whatever the story is, having some sort of a story about why you do what you do (other than doing it for money, of course) will help sell people on your company over the competition.
Breaking News
Almost every single day there seems to be a new breakthrough or important story related to health. So why not take some of these news stories that are related to your industry, curate them so that they are in your own words, and post them to your blog?
People want to know what’s new in the industry. But not only that, if you get your hands on a new “fresh off the press” news story and post it to your blog quickly, it could give you a huge boost in the online search engines. More traffic means more potential leads, and more of an edge over the competition. It’s a winning situation;.
Talk About your Products/Services
Not everyone may know just exactly what it is that you offer. If you provide in home services of some kind, why not describe the different services that you do provide, and who you would recommend these services for?
If you have products, you can take a very similar approach. What is the product, and who is it intended for? Give your recommendations in your blog. This will give people clarity on what you offer and what you can do for them.
Discuss Past and Present Client Experiences
People love reading about who your favorite clients are, and who your most challenging ones are too. Blogging about how you treated and handled each customer will go a long way in proving to the people who come across your blog that you are qualified, competent, and capable of providing an essential health service.
Key Takeaways:
Don’t lose sight of what your industry is all about. It’s not just about being in a fairly lucrative industry, but it’s even more about providing essential services to people so that they can live a more sustainable and higher quality of life. Approach your blog with this mindset and you’re sure to gain more leads and customers in no time.
