When it comes to smartphones, the Apple iPhone is still king in the U.S. but the newest Blackberry and Droid models are providing Apple with some strong competition. In fact, the top selling smart phone in the 4th quarter of 2009 was the BlackBerry Curve with the Motrola Droid close behind.
BlackBerry devices still have the strongest enterprise features of all smart phones. The Droid has the advantage of running on Verizon’s network and its operating system is popular with consumers and device manufacturers who have made the open source OS widely used.
If you want a mobile device that takes full advantage of Web connectivity, applications and personal media that you can also use for business connectivity such as email and calendaring, the iPhone is your best smart phone.
If you’re subject to high security requirements, such as for regulatory compliance, need to manage lots of devices and don’t like the touch screen keypad, the BlackBerry Bold is the way to go.
If you don’t want to use the AT&T 3G network and don’t need access to corporate email, the Droid is your best bet.
