Meet Tom DiScipio (@TomDiScipio), Director of Project Marketing/Partner here at IMPACT Branding & Design.  Tom has been with the company for just over two years now, and his outgoing and optimistic attitude have helped shape the positive work atmosphere we so enjoy.

Tom brings a level of passion and creativity to his job each day that is invaluable both to our agency and to our clients. Starting at a young age, Tom became interested in the graphic arts. From video games to web sites, Tom’s passion is to create visually appealing, yet effective web sites and graphics.

Take a few moments to get to know a little more about the man who brings the sombrero to our Fiesta Fridays.

Q:  Where did you grow up and what was it like?

Tom:  I was born in Hartford and lived there for the first five years of my life.  After that, my family moved to Newington, which is where I really grew up.  I spent most of my time with neighborhood and school friends, having fun outside, playing Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, and playing sports.

Q:  How would your family and close friends describe you?

Tom:  My family and friends probably describe me a little differently.  My family would say that I’m quiet, responsible, and diligent.  According to my friends, I’m quite energetic, but really laid back at the same time with a positive outlook – a glass-half-full kind of person.

Q:  Who is the most influential person in your life?

Tom:  My mother. I love and respect her beyond words. Yeah, I’m a Momma’s boy. She’s the reason

I am who I am today, and I am forever grateful for her dedication to my success and well-being. (…I should add that Bob Ruffolo, my business partner, friend, and mentor, comes in as a close second.)

Q:  What is your all-time favorite movie?

Tom: Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is at the top of the list.  Wedding Crashers and The Matrix are also up there.  I’ll watch just about anything that can make me laugh.

Q:  What is currently playing on your iPod?

Tom:  I have a pretty eclectic mix of music on my iPod right now.  Lately I’ve been listening to DJ Rubberninja, which has a progressive, electro feel.  In general, I also listen to a lot of hard rock, metal, and screamo.  I’m NOT listening to country…ever…unless it’s about a red solo cup.

Q:  Who is your celebrity crush?

Tom:  I’d definitely have to go with Megan Fox.  Need I say more?

Q:  What is your guilty pleasure?

Tom:  I don’t think I really have any guilty pleasures.  If I had to choose, though, I’d probably say sweets.  I eat a lot of freakin’ chocolate!

Q:  If you could spend an entire paycheck without worrying about bills or savings, what would you spend it on?

Tom:  Another guitar, no question.  Specifically, I’d buy a Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Q:  What’s your favorite hobby or pastime?

Tom:  Guitars and cars are my ABSOLUTE passions. Not a moment goes by where I don’t think about riffing out a few songs or taking a day cruise down to the beach. But when it comes to pastime, my enjoyment comes from spending QT with my girlfriend, close friends, and family.

Q:  Who is your favorite musical artist or band?

Tom:  My top three favorite bands (at the moment) are Memphis May Fire, Lower Definition, and Incubus.

Q:  Describe your perfect Saturday afternoon.

Tom:  All day at the beach, lounging in the sun doing nothing but enjoying a gin and tonic with the ones I love.

Q:  What’s something your co-workers would be surprised to learn about you?

Tom:  I was in a bowling league when I was about six or seven years old.  I didn’t even know you could be so young and do something like that, but I was actually pretty good!
