Vin Gaeta (@vinIMPACT) is IMPACT Branding & Design’s Support Manager; he has been with the company for over a year now. Passionate about all things technological, Vin’s obsession started when he was 10 months old, playing Super Mario Bros. on his dads lap.

In high school, Vin turned his passion into a love for computers. An experienced web developer, there isn’t anything relating to a website or computer that Vin can’t build or fix.

Not only is Vin the go-to guy when we experience technical difficulties, he’s also our in-house comic book guru.

When it comes to super heroes and comic book villains, he’s the expert.  Vin keeps the team entertained with his witty office commentary and always seems to be in a good mood.  Meet the guy we always look to for a laugh.

Q:  Where did you grow up and what was it like?

Vin:  I grew up in Levittown, New York.  It was a very close knit neighborhood with plenty of kids to hand out with. Most of my free time was spent playing games of Manhunt, playing baseball (that ended quickly), and relaxing around our yards.

Q:  How would your family and close friends describe you?

Vin:  They’d call me a lovable geek.  Everyone knows that I love comics and technology. If something breaks on a computer, or a new comic book movie comes out, I usually get a text or call to go over the details.

Q:  Who is the most influential person in your life?

Vin:  Mama Dukes.  She raised me as a single parent, and is one of the most hard-working, motivated, and determined people I know.  She never hesitates to go out of her way for me, either by cooking for me and my friends while we’re hanging out at the house, or being a last ditch designated driver in times of need. She’s pretty much the best mom ever.

Q:  What is your all-time favorite movie?

Vin:  It’s a tie.  One would be Fast and Furious; I really loved cars when I was younger, and even wanted to be a mechanic.  The other is Iron Man, because well, I’m a geek haha. It was the comic book movie that changed the industry, and I’ve always been a huge fan.

Q:  What is currently playing on your iPod?

Vin: Right now I’m listening to Get Out Alive by Three-Legged Fox, Terrible Lie by Nine Inch Nails, and Beyond the Gray Sky by 311.

Q:  Who is your celebrity crush?

Vin:  I don’t really have a celebrity crush, but if I had to say, I’d go with Scarlett Johansson.  I mean come on, Black Widow in Avengers? Who can top that?

Q:  What is your guilty pleasure?

Vin:  Definitely Walking Dead, the comic book.  The show is also great, but the comic book is able to do a lot more. Every month when a new issue comes out I will be MIA for a good hour reading and re-reading the issue.

Q:  If you could spend an entire paycheck without worrying about bills or savings, what would you spend it on?

Vin: I’d buy some comic book statues from Sideshow Collectibles.  There’s a $600 Dead Pool statue that has been calling my name, now if only they’d release it for sale…

Q:  What’s your favorite hobby or pastime?

Vin:  I love going to concerts.  Last August I went to a four day 311 concert in Florida, which was amazing. Close friends, great music, and $2 draft beer. Could you ask for a better combination?

Q:  Who is your favorite musical artist or band?

Vin: I never really had a “favorite artist”. My musical taste is really widespread (thanks to my Mom), and I’ll go through phases. The fundamental list usually is Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nine Inch Nails, The Beatles, and John Mellencamp.  The first CD I ever owned was by Michael Jackson, so he’s on there, too.

Q:  Describe your perfect Saturday afternoon.

Vin:  I’d spend it in the backyard by a fire with a twelve-pack of Magic Hat and a bunch of my friends, playing outdoor games.

Q:  What’s something your co-workers would be surprised to learn about you?

Vin:  My left calf is covered in tattoos. No one knew I had so many tattoos until 3 months at IMPACT. Bob was very surprised.
